Team NZP’s Eight Essential Serger & Coverstitch Tools
Whether you’re an accomplished seamstress or a beginning sewist, in today’s blog posting we’re sharing our Eight Essential Serger Sewing Tools for making your next serging and coverstitching project a success!
Maxi-Lock Serger Cone Thread meets the demands of serger sewing and withstands the high speeds and tensions unique to serging. Soft thread finish disguises a strength that holds up under the most vigorous seamwork. Quality consistency, beginning to end, makes it easy to set and maintain tensions.
Schmetz ELx705 Serger Overlock Needles are essential for successful serging/overlocking! Schmetz ELx705 Serger Overlock Needles are designed for use in sergers and have a groove on the front side and back side – for reduced skipped stitches. Schmetz ELx705 Serger Overlock Needles have for less thread breakage and straighter stitches.
Machine Needle Threader threads serger needles with ease! Simply position a length of thread within the guide at the front of the threader. Then, push and slide the threader down the shaft of the needle. When the threader meets the eye of the needle, the needle threader will insert thread into the eye of the needle.
The Pro Tweezers is an ideal tool for threading overlock serger loopers. Precision tips provide precise thread handling in tight areas.
Thread Nets are made from a loose-netting and are placed over Serger Cone Threads. Thread Nets keep slick thread, such as Metallics, MonoPoly, and Trilobal polyesters, from “puddling” down around base of spool.
Double-Eyed Needles assist with finishing serged seams by securing chained thread ends or “tails” within the seam. Both needle ends feature a large eye for inserting threads. Smooth rounded ends allow chained thread tails to feed smoothly into previously stitched serger seams.
Fray Block prevents serger seams from “coming undone”. Ultra-fine applicator tip provides precise placement of Fray Block. Dries quickly, remains clear, and soft and flexible. Washable and dry cleanable.
NEW! Ceramic Blade Seam Ripper features a durable and safer ceramic blade – ideal for removing serger stitches. Rounded blade tip helps prevent accidental cuts in fabric. Blade manually retracts by sliding a button.
Serger Seam Ripper has a razor sharp blade for precision ripping! A serger seam ripper saves time when removing overlock stitches. Slip blade between fabric layers and cut overlock stitches. Use caution to not cut fabrics.
Spool Pin Adaptors allow thread to smoothly feed off of the spool. Each Spool Pin Adaptor attaches to a vertical spool pin to hold a spool of thread in the horizontal position. Spool Pin Adaptor also attaches to a horizontal spool pin to hold a spool of thread in the vertical position. Also know as Horizontal Thread Holders and Horizontal Spool Feeders.
