In December 2015, Nancy Zieman created Sew To Give™. Nancy Zieman’s Sew To Give™ spotlights sewing, quilting, and volunteering outreach programs and the individuals that volunteer their time and talents to help others. Over the years, in the Nancy’s Corner Interview Segments on her Public Television show, Sewing With Nancy, Nancy interviewed guests with amazing charitable goals. Over at our The Nancy Zieman Sew to Give Page, find a grouping of many of the organizations that touched Nancy and give each of us the inspiration to sew and quilt for others. As Nancy often says on Sewing With Nancy, “The gift is in the giving!”
In May 2011, Nancy made her first Quilt to Give design in 10-days – sewing a little each day. Nancy chronicled her 10-day Quit To Give journey, with full instructions on how to make her quilt, right here on the NZP blog. Nancy then donated her quilt to representatives at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. The same year, in September 2011, Nancy led volunteers at the first annual Quilt to Give community service event at The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show. Attendees created attractive bed-sized quilts for donation to individuals and families in need. Making and giving a needed bed quilt is a heartfelt way of showing support and encouragement. Our hope is that you will consider making a Nancy Zieman’s Quilt To Give with your fabric stash and Nancy’s step-by-step directions.
Since 2005, each September, The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show has welcomed thousands of quilting enthusiasts to Madison, Wis. to celebrate the joys of quilting. In 2020, due to COVID-19, we welcome you to our virtual show instead—online at QuiltShow.com.
Thank you to everyone who helped make The 2020 Great Wisconsin Quilt Show Virtual Event a success! We hope that you’ve learned something new, found inspiration and felt connected to the larger quilting community.
