Our NEW! 2020 Nancy Zieman Productions Free! Block of the Month Mystery Quilt Series is a great way to finish a quilt in manageable monthly installments. One block at a time is an easy approach to creating a quilt. Whether you’re a beginner quilter or seasoned quilter, Team NZP’s block of the month series is a great opportunity to get stitching in the new year. In 2020, The NZP Team is honored to continue Nancy Zieman’s Block of the Month program with this very special mystery quilt series! We’re keeping the finished quilt design a mystery until later in December 2020!
After weeks of brainstorming the 2020 Mystery Quilt, Team Nancy Zieman designed a very special quilt titled, Nancy’s Red Elegance. This special quilt is an all-new design, it’s completely different from our previous BoMs, and -as always- we’ll feature Nancy’s timesaving quilt piecing tips for easy-to-make quilt blocks! In our January 1 blog posting, we introduced you to our NEW! 2020 Nancy Zieman Productions Free! Block of the Month Mystery Quilt Series along with a supply listing – so you may prepare and gather your fabrics and supplies for creating a beautiful mystery quilt.
Though we won’t be sharing the blocks today, we will be posting a new quilt block tutorial starting SATURDAY, on January 18! On the third Saturday of each month in 2020, Team NZP will share a free quilt block sewing tutorial for creating one block design each month— made with Nancy Zieman’s timesaving quit making methods featuring Team NZP’s NEW! Red Elegance Fat Quarter Pack from Riley Blake Designs. The NEW! Red Elegance Fat Quarter Pack includes twenty-four 18″ x 21″ fabric rectangles.
If you haven’t already, Gather Your Fabric and Supplies!
All blocks will feature Team NZP’s NEW! Red Elegance Fat Quarter Pack! Each block will be 4″ or 8″ finished squares. Finished quilt measures approximately 48″ x 56″. For this quilt project, you will need:
- One NEW! Red Elegance Fat Quarter Pack
- 1 yd. block background and binding fabric. Choose one “dark” fabric from: Red Elegance Tonal Brick, Red Elegance Textured Brick or Red Elegance Diamonds Brick.
- 1 yd. block background fabric. Choose one “medium” fabric from: Red Elegance Tonal Taupe, Red Elegance Stems Taupe or Red Elegance Diamonds Taupe.
- 1 yd. block background fabric. Choose one “light” fabric from: Red Elegance Rose Cream, Red Elegance Diamonds Cream or Red Elegance Lace Taupe.
- 3-1/4 yd. backing fabric
