Prepare your fabrics! Pre-shrink fabrics by steaming and pressing. Then, stabilize fabrics for the sewing process by pressing and starching fabrics with Quilter’s Starch Savvy.

- 1/3 yd. Mardi Gras Mask & Feathers Fabric by the Yard.
- 1/3 yd. Mardi Gras Streamers and Confetti Fabric by the Yard.
- 1/3 yd. Marbleized Lime Green Fabric by the Yard.
- 1/3 yd. Marbleized Purple Fabric by the Yard.
- 1/3 yd. Marbleized Marigold Yellow Fabric by the Yard.
- 2/3 yd. Marbleized Charcoal Black Fabric by the Yard.
- 50″ x 17″ rectangle coordinating fabric for backing.
Cut Fabrics
You’re the designer! Audition your fabrics and create a layout.
We’ve arranged our layout as shown:
- Cut One 5″ x 5″ square Mardi Gras Mask & Feathers Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut One 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ square Mardi Gras Mask & Feathers Fabric by the Yard, cut in half diagonally.
- Cut Two 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ square Mardi Gras Streamers and Confetti Fabric by the Yard, cut in half diagonally.
- Cut Two 2″ x 5″ rectangles Marbleized Lime Green Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 8″ rectangles Marbleized Lime Green Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 11″ rectangles Marbleized Lime Green Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 12-1/2″ rectangles Marbleized Lime Green Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 8″ rectangles Marbleized Purple Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Four 2″ x 11″ rectangles Marbleized Purple Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 12-1/2″ rectangles Marbleized Purple Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 11″ rectangles Marbleized Marigold Yellow Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 12-1/2″ rectangles Marbleized Marigold Yellow Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut One 1-1/2″ Crosswise Fabric Strip Marbleized Marigold Yellow Fabric by the Yard, for bias trim.
- Cut Two 2″ x 11″ rectangles Marbleized Charcoal Black Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Two 2″ x 12-1/2″ rectangles Marbleized Charcoal Black Fabric by the Yard.
- Cut Three 2-1/2″ Crosswise Fabric Strips Marbleized Charcoal Black Fabric by the Yard, for binding.
Please note binding should not be starched!
- Cut One 50″ x 17″ rectangle coordinating fabric for backing.
Assemble Quilt As You Go: Mardi Gras Table Runner
June Tailor’s Quilt-As-You-Go Table Runner Printed Batting – Morning Blend
- Using June Tailor’s Quilt Basting Spray, spray wrong side of pre-printed batting, smooth backing onto wrong side of batting. Turn right side up.
- Place wrong side of backing fabric on (unprinted) side of interfacing. Make sure backing fabric completely covers printed area.
- Use June Tailor’s Fabric Glue Stick to hold piece one in place.
- Place piece one right side up.
Printed lines are for placement only and are not stitching lines!
- Place rectangle – 2, onto square – 1, right side together.
- Stitch with a scant 1/4″ on long side of the rectangle as shown.
- Flip rectangle 2 right side up.
- Use June Tailors Magic Seam Wand to press seam open.
- Continue to place rectangles by number, right sides together with previous pieces and aligning with placement lines.
- Stitch with a scant 1/4″ on long side of the rectangle as shown.
- Flip rectangles right side up.
- Use June Tailors Magic Seam Wand to press seam open.
- Repeat steps above for opposite of the table runner.
Create Bias Trim
- Using Clover’s 3/4″ Fusible Bias Tape Maker, and Clover’s 10 mm Fusible Web, create bias trim.
- Insert fabric strip and fusible web into wide end of bias tape maker, using a stiletto awl.
- Press folded fabric at narrow end of bias tape maker, while advancing maker.
Add Bias Trim
- Measure width of table runner and cut bias trim to fit.
- Remove paper backing and press bias trim to table runner.
- Topstitch bias trim to table runner.
- Using Clover’s 45 mm Rotary Cutter and cutting mat, trim table runner to outline, leaving a scant 1/4″ from seam allowance.
- Using your favorite binding technique, bind NEW! Quilt As You Go Mardi Gras Table Runner.
