Reusable Fabric Snack Pouch Sewing Tutorial
We’ve found this Reusable Snack Pouch Sewing Tutorial by Silvia Sutters over at the BERNINA We All Sew Blog. We’ve modified this project to include two fabrics per pouch; an outer fabric and an inner fabric.
Reusable Fabric Snack Pouch Sewing Supplies List
1/2 yd each two or more assorted Farmer’s Market Fruits & Veggies Fabrics
Clover’s Supersize 5-in-1 Sliding Gauge
Four Cones Coordinating Serger Cone Threads
Schmetz ELx 705 Serger Needles Size 80/12
4-Thread Serger Sewing Machine, such as a bernette b64 AIRLOCK Overlocker
Optional: Clover’s Wonder Clips
Cut Fabrics for each pouch:
- Cut one 7-1/2″ x 15-1/2″ rectangle for outside fabric.
- Cut one 7-1/2″ x 15-1/2″ rectangle for inner lining fabric.
- Set serger for a standard 4-thread overlock seam and insert a new Schmetz ELx 705 Serger Needles Size 80/12.
- Place one outer rectangle and one inner rectangle wrong sides together. Stitch short edges along top and bottom of each pouch.
- Fold pouch bottom up 6-3/4″. Starting at the bottom, stitch along one side, stopping at pouch center.
- Fold pouch top down 2-1/4″ over bottom pouch and continue stitching entire side seam. Repeat steps on remaining pouch side.
- Use a Double-Eyed Needle to re-thread serger tails into previous stitched seams.
