The subject of my fabric art piece would be my late mother so that my grandchildren could have this memorable piece to capture in their hearts a magnificent woman whom they never met.

My Grandmother. She was born in 1899, helped feed her family by hunting and gardening, worked for women’s right to vote, raised 6 children through the depression, worked as a housekeeper, telephone operator, lunch lady at several schools; and was a total inspiration to me! Thank you for the chance to make a piece of art that would help to remind us of our history!

I would choose my parents for an art quilt. They were married for 46 years, until my father died. I have already made a shadow box with my mother’s wedding dress, Bible, wedding photo, and replica flowers, for my mother’s 90th birthday.
