Wow! What a lot of talented sewists!! It was tough to pick just five stockings. Perhaps next year’s contest will have categories for them to match the trends in this year’s entries.

Categories could include: Traditional (red & green); Pet; Rustic (Burlap); Bling (shiny); Family (a set of two or more); Embroidered; Quilted; Edgy; and Alternative.

Initial voting might be for the best two/three in each category…depending on the number of entries…with a final vote for the best out the top three in each category.

If this change is made, please post a “reminder” of the upcoming contest and new rules in August, when the holiday fabrics arrive at the fabric stores!

Nancy, thank you for all you (and your team) do to make sewing accessible to people of all abilities and interests!

    Happy holidays!

I am disappointed in this contest. My entry does not show the intricate stitching which compliments the stocking. Using a compressed thumbnail photo instead of the original one presented is unfair for voting purposes, not good for a sewing contest.

There should be a way to ENLARGE the pictures to show the detail.

Having categories would be hard for those who use multiple skills for making their stockings. I think degree of difficulty or creativity could be considered but it might just be easier to leave it as open as it is.

Great contest and wonderful entries! I do believe there is one entry showing three times. Perhaps someone could check on that.

Your Christmas stocking voting process is flawed. I tried to enlarge a stocking on my tablet to view it. Your site counted me touching the photo as a vote. I did NOT want to vote for that stocking and I was NOT permitted to undo your error. Retouching a photo should undo a vote!!!

So hard to pick. These were all so good. I have not done any stockings in many years and looking all of these. I think I will do stockings next Christmas. Wish all the people that made these stockings the very best of luck and thank all of you for bringing back some spirit lost.

This was my first and last contest where number of internet friends determine the winners instead of creativity and degree of skill.
