Wow! What a lot of talented sewists!! It was tough to pick just five stockings. Perhaps next year’s contest will have categories for them to match the trends in this year’s entries.
Categories could include: Traditional (red & green); Pet; Rustic (Burlap); Bling (shiny); Family (a set of two or more); Embroidered; Quilted; Edgy; and Alternative.
Initial voting might be for the best two/three in each category…depending on the number of entries…with a final vote for the best out the top three in each category.
If this change is made, please post a “reminder” of the upcoming contest and new rules in August, when the holiday fabrics arrive at the fabric stores!
Nancy, thank you for all you (and your team) do to make sewing accessible to people of all abilities and interests!
Happy holidays!

had a hard time deciding! Wish they could ALL be winners!
Sammi
OMG!! They’re ALL beautiful….best of luck to all!
CW
I am disappointed in this contest. My entry does not show the intricate stitching which compliments the stocking. Using a compressed thumbnail photo instead of the original one presented is unfair for voting purposes, not good for a sewing contest.
Nancy Zieman
CW, Thank you for your comment. We’ll share it with the team.
Laura
OMG, What creativity! What great ideas! They are all so inspirational. Evvery stocking is a winner. Good luck to all contestants.

Your ending date info is incorrect… Is it closing Saturday the 12th of December or Sunday the 13th of December….?
Nancy Zieman
We’ll make the correction. Thank you!

HI RPreiss, Sunday, December 13—Voting Closes

My stocking isn’t here I tried 2 days to post it to no avail. It is Peacock Print Stocking. I kept getting message to put the correct address in and I did and still nothing!
Kris
So many beautiful stockings!!
Linda
Hard to choose! All of them are great and so creative.
Arline
Great job everyone! They are all beautiful.
Carol
So many beautiful stockings. I had a hard time picking which ones I liked. Good luck to all.
Grace Skipton
All the stockings are really nice. Good luck to those who made them. Wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Lorij
Very disappointed
Lorij
Thank you for fixing issue. I appreciate it very much.
Veronica
There should be a way to ENLARGE the pictures to show the detail.
RPreiss
Having categories would be hard for those who use multiple skills for making their stockings. I think degree of difficulty or creativity could be considered but it might just be easier to leave it as open as it is.
Peggy V
Great contest and wonderful entries! I do believe there is one entry showing three times. Perhaps someone could check on that.
Sharon Carbine
Your Christmas stocking voting process is flawed. I tried to enlarge a stocking on my tablet to view it. Your site counted me touching the photo as a vote. I did NOT want to vote for that stocking and I was NOT permitted to undo your error. Retouching a photo should undo a vote!!!
diane
They are lovely and unfortunately, some photograph better than others. Wish they could all be winners.
Bev M
If you vote for less than 5, how do you press to enter the votes?
Joyce Wilson
I truly enjoyed all of the designs. We have many gifted and loving sewing artists here in America. Good luck and have a blessed holiday season.
RPreiss
If I click on the heart does that mean my vote was submitted ?
Mary Ellen
Enjoyed looking at all the stockings and wish good luck to all who entered.
Wilma
So hard to pick. These were all so good. I have not done any stockings in many years and looking all of these. I think I will do stockings next Christmas. Wish all the people that made these stockings the very best of luck and thank all of you for bringing back some spirit lost.
Jan
The creativity is inspiring! Thank you, everyone!
Wilma
They are all so great. Very hard to decide, but I have to give credit to these wonderful stocking designers.
Linda Stovall
Inspirational and everyone was beautiful in a unique way
RPreiss
This was my first and last contest where number of internet friends determine the winners instead of creativity and degree of skill.
